How can you check ?



Urgent Response



Call Your Local Emergency Service immediately if you or your students have:



Signs of a heart attack - pain like a very tight band, heavy weight or squeezing in the centre of your chest


Signs of a stroke - face drooping on one side, canít hold both arms up, difficulty speaking severe difficulty breathing - gasping, not being able to get words out, choking or lips turning

blue heavy bleeding - that wonít stop.


Severe injuries - or deep cuts after a serious accident seizure (fit) - someone is shaking or jerking because of a fit, or is unconscious (canít be woken up) sudden, rapid swelling - of the eyes, lips, mouth, throat or tongue



Phone Your Local Emergency Service now for an ambulance.


Tell the operator that your student might have Covid-19 symptoms.


The Operator will ask:


where you are and for your phone number in case you get cut off


The ambulance crew might arrive wearing protective clothing so that the virus is not spread.

Do not go to a GP or hospital instead of calling for an ambulance.





Daily Response


Ask your student daily;


Do you have a high temperature (fever) ?



Are you hot on your forehead or on your back ?



Does your student have a new continuous cough?  


This means a cough that your student has not had before, or if  they usually have a cough, it has become worse. Continuous: means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours.



Has your student become breathless ?


Is your student so breathless that they are unable to speak more than a few words ? This means you are struggling to breathe.
